To CNC, or Not To CNC?

Well . . . . we finally did it - we purchased a CNC machine! Why? For precision and speed.

A CNC machine allows us to design guitars with a level of precision and detail that is very hard to achieve by utilizing more traditional methods like chisel, file, template and hand-held router. It also allows us to replicate our designs with exacting tolerances, consistencies and with superior turn-around.

It also allows us to reduce labour costs and pass that savings along to our customers. And if we can produce the best guitars possible and at the best price, then it allows us to be more competitive in the marketplace. This doesn’t mean we’re looking to mass produce or dramatically increase volume output, no. But what it does mean is we can focus more on finishing, set-up and testing to ensure greater outcomes and better value for those looking for a custom built, boutique electric guitar.

More to come on this topic!
